Lego Master...part 2

Ok....apparently the airport just wasn't good enough. (see 2 posts below) He's added another "gate" to another plane, two small private planes, and a baggage cart. I love this man!
He added on...I'm pretty sure we're gonna have a lego city in a couple weeks!

Be blessed,

Resurrection Rolls

My mother in law told us about these yesterday. She and Pops made them with some of the grandkids for Easter yesterday. It is such a cool way to explain the Easter story to the little ones....and yummy too!

Resurrection Rolls

You will need:

* 1 package Cresent rolls
* melted butter
* large marshmallows
* cinnamon
* sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Give each child a triangle of cresent rolls.
The cresent roll represents the cloth that Jesus was wrapped in.

Give each child a marshmallow.
This represents Jesus and His purity.

Have child dip the marshmallow in melted butter.
This represents the oils of embalming.

Dip the buttered marshmallow in the cinnamon and sugar.
This represents the spices used to annoint the body of Jesus.

Wrap the coated marshmallow tightly in the cresent roll
(not like a typical cresent roll up, but bring the sides up and seal the marshmallow inside)
This represents the wrapping of Jesus' body after death.

Place in a 350 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
The oven represents the tomb (pretend like it was 3 days and nights!)

When the rolls have cooled slightly, the children can open their rolls (cloths) and discover that Jesus is no longer there, While the children enjoy the rolls, explain that knowing Jesus is alive and he loves us feels so good, like the rolls taste good and sweet.

HE IS RISEN!

The marshmallow melts and the cresent roll is puffed up,
but like the tomb - IT IS EMPTY!

Lego master

Ok....had to share this, because it's just too cool not to. Here is my husband, the Lego master's latest creation. He started by making the airplane, then decided the airplane needed an airport to go to. After making the airport, he HAD to make a tower so that the plane could land safely....naturally! LOL...
I love my husband!!!! I think the best I can do with some legos is to make a boring ol' tower!

HAPPY SPRING

Today is the first day of spring..... Get out there and celebrate. We have a BEAUTIFUL day here in North Carolina. We plan to get out later and have a lovely playdate with some dear friends and enjoy it. I hope you'll do something.....even if it's just sending a shout out prayer to our good Lord above, thanking HIM for Springtime. Springtime is a time of growth, renewal, of new life being born, and of the cycle of life once again starting. A time to say goodbye to the slugish winter days and say hello to warmer weather, flowers everywhere, and longer days. Of course, it also includes one of my favorite holidays, Easter. Not that I don't love Christmas, but Easter holds a dear place in my heart. It's about celebrating HIS most awesome gifts. Forgiveness, Salvation, and HIS Resurection. To me, the most important aspect of Easter is to see Jesus again, to remember what He taught and did, to live and celebrate our resurrection in Jesus. Yes, indeed, the Lord is risen as he has foretold. Alleluia.

Hebrews 9:14

How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

Show and Tell

Happy Holy Week! My sweet Kayla made this at church yesterday. Boy, Easter really snuck up on me this year! It must be because it comes so early this year. Nevertheless, I thought this was a really cute craft that they did in Sunday school, so I wanted to share it. When I asked her what she learned, she told me that she learned about Jesus and the Donkey and the "pomp," which I can only guess meant the palm! LOL.... What a little sponge she is!

An awesome definition of Love

I don't know about you, but I just LOVE the praise and worship part of Sunday mornings. Maybe it's because I grew up in a home surrounded with music, and so that's a way that I connect very strongly. Usually I just close my eyes, lift my face to the sky and sing my little heart out, all the while feeling the goosebumps (the Holy Spirit) up and down my arm. This morning, I was blessed to hear a new and very beautiful song sung during the offeratory. The words speak for themselves...

Smells

Don't you just love how certain smells will trigger our memories in a flash?! Today I stepped out of my car, the sun is shining, the breeze is crisp, and the smell of onion grass was strong in the air. Smelling it made me think that SPRING IS ALMOST HERE!!! Only 4 more days till Spring has officially sprung! Can you tell I'm excited?

Here's some other smells that trigger my memory:

Baby Powder~Makes me think of my girls when they were teeny tiny little babies.

Bonfires outside~Make me think of crisp fall nights outside listening to grasshoppers and watching the fireflies.

Domain cologne~This will forever make me think of my hubby....gotta love those manly smells!

Popcorn~snuggling up on the couch with my man to watch a movie

Bearing Fruit

John 15:4

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

So....here's the question that's been ringing in my ears for two days now:
Does my life bear fruit, much fruit and fruit that is abundant? We cannot expect to help lead people to Christ if we ourselves are not showing all the goodness and joy that comes from following HIM, and with that, bearing fruit.

It bothers me to hear someone say something like "I am grateful to God for blessing me," but then bears no fruit to show God their "gratefulness." Our gift of salvation came at a price, and the LEAST we can do is to show how eternally grateful we are by bearing fruit, being obedient to HIS word, and spreading the truth to any and all who cross our paths.

Dear Lord,
Help me to bear the fruit in my life that you so desire to see. Help that fruit be an example to others of the work you do in my life on a daily basis. Help me to show my gratitude to YOU with purpose, love and obedience. In Jesus' name I pray...
Amen
