Ok...yes, I am tooting my own horn a bit here, but check out the cake I made last week for an early 4th celebration! Pretty cool, right? Also, the cake was made FROM SCRATCH, so I'm pretty proud of that as well. I think I'll make this a new tradition....

Yeah man! The whole story is that I wanted to make it with an angel food cake, since it's virtually fat free, but I totally junked it up (it puffed up so much, it spilled over the sides in the oven) So, I decided to make a white cake, from scratch, ONLY because we live in the country and didn't have time to make a run into town for a cake mix! It was surprisingly simple actually!
