Where have I been, you ask?

Ok, ok....I know the previous post has been up WAY too long, and I do appologize for that, but boy oh boy, has it been a whirlwind of time the past 2 months! Ok.....here's what's been going on with us Haefs bunch.

Kayla had her birthday! I can't believe my baby is 4 years old already! We celebrated in the exact same way we did last year....Chuck E Cheese (gotta love the coupons that help out with the cost!) She had decided that she wanted a Wall E cake after Anna got hers a month or so before, so we got an identical cake, only this one said, "Happy Birthday Kayla!" I dolled her up in a new birthday tutu I made (bubblegum pink and extra poofy of course), a new birthday shirt, and we did the sponge rollers the night before so she could have extra fancy hair for her new birthday bow to go in! Whew......what a princess!

David graduated! As most of you know, the past 2 years have been trying for all of us, being that David was a full time student and at work full time. Many a lonely night were spent, and alot of hard work on his end (and mine.....I was his "assistant") went into school work when we'd have much rather just sat together on the couch and watched a movie, but it all paid off. I am so proud of him...

I went to Nashville to visit my family, and my Granny and Aunt Heather flew in from CA as well. It was wonderful to see them, as I haven't seen them for 4 years...Kayla was just a baby, and they hadn't even met Anna yet. The girls had a great time with them and with their cousins Jack and Ruby.

We decided to use our trip that we bid on and won at the New Year's party for the beach, since David was done with school and had no work obligations. We so enjoyed being there, and even were able to coax some friends of ours to go with us, even though the weather wasn't exactly ideal beach weather. The day we got there it was in the mid 60's, so we spent the entire day on the beach. The other days were a bit rainy, but we were blessed none the less to have had the opportunity to be there and to have sweet fellowship with good friends!

In HIS Grace and Love,

Ali

Janet~I'm workin' on a new post with the "big news" as you say....we will miss you too! Want me to make Sydney a birthday tutu still? I can ship it to ya!

Cara~I know, but I needed to catch up from 2 months ago! I loved spending our last beach trip in NC with you guys....I will treasure the friendship we were able to form, even if it was for a short time. Thanks for always listening, relaxing on the green at the RUSH when we should have been working out, and just plain being you! Love you girl!

Looks like you had a wonderful time. I know what you mean about your husband working and going to grad school. My husband will complete his master's this may and he was also working full time - which meant me raising Tommy and a lot of time away from Miguel. But I will be glad when he finishes. The baby will arrive in Sept and Miguel is considering getting his PHD starting in Jan (3.5 year commitment). I am not looking foward to the sacrifice of time but it is something he wants to do so I am supportive. Hope everything goes well in Texas.
